Planning Your Romantic Valentine's Getaway

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, if you want to do something really special for the one you love why not book a romantic getaway? A day or two away from mundane daily life is always going to go down well, can bring the spark back to the relationship and allows you to explore a new part of the world. Here are some of the things to bear in mind in the planning stages.

Where will you go?
You could go for somewhere which is stereotypically romantic- Paris, Venice, even the Lake District here is the UK is just gorgeous. You don't have to go abroad, you could always book a hotel with nice surroundings and have the getaway experience. With it being so last minute, you might be limited to what your choices with destinations are at this stage- but have a browse at what's available online. You might even snag a great last minute deal!

What will you do?
Just about any destination can be romantic if you play it right. And having romantic things to do is the way to go about this. A walk on the beach, a picnic in the park (if you're somewhere with a warmer climate!) stargazing and romantic dinners are all a good choice. Do your research before leaving, and book any tickets needed beforehand to avoid disappointment. On days like Valentine's Day you're likely to need to book since everywhere will be busy.

Where will you stay?
A luxurious room is the perfect choice for a romantic break, so push the boat out and get the best you can afford. Features like extra large beds, hot tubs, and scenic views can all add to the romance. You could go a step further and pack faux rose petals to scatter on the bed, and flameless LED tea light candles to make the space look beautiful and romantic. Don't forget the all important champagne, find out if this is available to order to the room from the hotel. If not you will have to pick up a bottle.

What's the most romantic holiday you've ever been on?
