THE UK

It’s not very exotic, but if you’re a little short on cash, places like Cheshire mean you can still take a great holiday right here at home. The UK has a wonderful system of canals so you’ve got plenty of options, but Cheshire is one of the best places to go. The picturesque countryside that runs along the canal is perfect for a relaxing getaway and there are plenty of quaint villages and towns in the area where you can enjoy a traditional pub lunch. GERMANY

The peaceful area of Bitterfield in Germany is ideally situated near the exciting city of Leipzig. The area is much quieter so you’ll have the best of both worlds. You can relax on a lovely houseboat during the days and then venture into Leipzig to see some of the tourist attractions like the Old City Hall and the Battle Of The Nation’s Monument. There are plenty of other great museums and monuments in the city so you’ll never be short of things to do. 

PARIS 

Paris is an incredibly romantic city to visit but you can really put the icing on the cake by staying in a houseboat while you’re there. Even though they’re situated in the middle of the city, they’re surprisingly peaceful so you can get out and see all of the sights, but you can still escape all of the noise at night.
